"road" NEWS

AUGUST 2007

Summer is winding down and autumn is just around the corner. We here at j-road central have spent most of the summer off from the road. We've enjoyed the down time but have had the chance to lead worship at a couple of smaller youth retreats around the area. And as I mentioned before, autumn is just around the corner and that also means jacob's road is about to get cranked up for retreats and conventions. Check out the schedule for updates and see if we are going to be at a retreat near you. If not, shoot us an email and let's plan something.

Also, one last update before we go...the babies are doing great! Both Taylor and Clark have reached to 6mo. mark. Growing as usual and soon to be talking. (They are already using their voices constantly making sound and utterances unknown to us) Check back periodically to our photos page and we'll have updated pix of the kids.

And finally...under construction...coming soon...jacob's road on mySpace...watch for it!

MARCH 2007
Welcome to Spring!!! As many of you know, as the temps climb, everyone begins to get outside more...and speaking of getting out more, the busy season for jacob's road is in full swing. Since the arrival of Taylor, We have attended such events as Youth Encounter's Wisconsin Dellls III Quake. With over 700 in attendance, you can imagine the energy level of this event. But unfortunately, Carrie had to stay back in Nashville with Taylor and continue the recovery process from giving birth to her...and trust me, she was duely missed at Dells III!!! We had an amazing time but never the same without Carrie there. But as that recovery process neared the end, Carrie joined back up with the band for the Virginia UMC's Conference event, Awakening 2007 at Randolph-Macon College. And speaking of an amazing event, this was one of the tops. We had the chance to meet back up with our family, the VA UMC peeps and also meet new friends Charlie Hall (from the Passion tours) and David Burke (Youth Specialties and youthmincoaches.com) Check out our 'photos' nav page for more on that...April looks to be loaded as well. Chicago II and Panama City will be coming up very soon. We know that God will grace us again with His presence as we continue to pray for these events! We hope to see some of you there. Until then, continue to "Tell the World Jesus Lives!"

FEBRUARY 2007
The new babies have arrived! Mark and Carrie announce the birth of Taylor Grace, their baby girl. Congradulations to the many of you who voted for a girl in the poll and "hit it right on the nose". Guitarist Josh Vegor and his wife Lisa Vegor also had their baby several weeks before Mark and Carrie. They had a little boy, Clark Andrew. We're so excited to have our two brand new additions to our family. See the photo gallery for some wonderful pictures.

AUGUST 2006

Greetings again! I (Mark) am finally finished with flight school !~ Praise Jesus~ I am offically, according to the FAA, a commercial flight instructor. Anyone want to learn how to fly? I can teach you. It is a lot of fun to fly in and out of the clouds, to see the world for a different perspective. Carrie is doing well with pregnancy. We are excited to go back for our second ultrsound exam is a few weeks. We're going to find out if it is a boy or girl this trip. We're also interested in seeing how a baby is going to adapt to road life...If you haven't had a chance to check out our schedule, you'll see it filling up for 2007. We are totally stoked to see God take us to more places around the country so we can worship with all of you! That is the absolute best thing about what we do. We get to meet some of the country's greatest youth and adults and worship an amazing, overwhelming Savior. And, we can't wait to show you our new little band member too.

JULY 2006

After many hours of mixing, mastering and duplication the latest release is ready for shipment. "We have prayed for a tool like this [CD] for a while. We wanted to tell more of you guys out there that it is available for online purchase here at jacobsroad.com. We have plenty in stock and will ship within a week. Just click on the jroad store for more details.

JUNE 2006
Hello everyone! Just a quick update from the road...actually, from home. We have taken a bit of time off from the road since we had such a busy winter and spring. I have been able to focus more time to flight school and actually finish up several certificates, ratings and endorsements that needed to be taken care of. Carrie and I have found out we are having a baby in February 2007. We also found out Josh and his wife Lisa are having a baby in January 2007. So the j-road crew is adding new members. God is good! More help!

And just in time for a new addition to the family, we bought a house just outside of Nashville. We were going to buy in October but God has a sense of humor when it comes to family, dwelling, agendas... I guess He knew what we needed before we did.

Funny how that works. God knows us better than we know ourselves. Hmmm, ponder that for a while.

FEBRUARY 2006
LIVE CD TO BE RECORDED AT CONCERT IN BRENTWOOD, TN ON FEBRUARY 18 !
Hey guys, this is Mark, and we're getting ready to do a live recording of our concert for Brentwood United Methodist in Brentwood, TN. This live recording will be available for sale as our second album release. This event is open to the public, so if you're around the Nashville area and would like to be part of the recording, feel free to join us, for what should be a great night of worship through music.

JANUARY 2006

YOUTH ENCOUNTER CINCINNATI QUAKE
What an amazing over-the-top explosive encounter with our Savior! The Cinci Quake was a great chance for us to worship with some of the JR high students of Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. Lives were completely changed. Including ours! This was our first YE event, and we didn't know what to expect. The energy, spirit of worship, and excitment was more than we ever imagined. It was incredible to hear 600 youth and adults screaming, "Tell the world that Jesus lives...!" If only we could capture that excitment in our daily lives as we share Christ within our own world. Thanks to all that attended for sharing your hearts and lives with us. It was truly an honor and blessing.

See you on the ROAD!
Mark
